***Update: Pistol Raffle Winner Flyer***
The Layette Gun Club, in conjunction with the York County based “Gathering of Mountain Eagles” wounded warrior charity, will conduct
Rifle/Pistol Matches & a Turkey Shoot
from
8:30 AM to 2:00 PM on October 30, 2010.
This event is open to the public!
It will also be a chance for all LGC members and the public to see the club’s range and facilities improvements.
All proceeds go to match winners (25%) and the “Gathering of Mountain Eagles” (75%).
In addition, there will be raffles of donated or purchased merchandise (for example a Sig Sauer P250, 9mm pistol).
The “Gathering of Mountain Eagles” is dedicated to supporting wounded/injured warriors from the wars in Iraq & Afghanistan. They take the warriors from hospitals or rehabilitation units such as Army’s Warrior Transition Units (such as the one at Ft Eustis), Walter Reed Army Medical Center, the Marine’s Wounded Warrior Regiment, and discharged veterans in the VA system to participate in “adventure therapy” activities to assist in their physical and mental recovery. In addition, opportunities are taken to sincerely thank them for their service and sacrifices. These adventure activities such as whitewater rafting, zipline courses, golf tournaments, mountain climbing, horseback riding, etc. are intended to challenge them to do as much as they can after their injuries. Smiles are the measure of success for all volunteers that make up the staff of the “Gathering of Mountain Eagles.” See more about the beneficiary of the LGC matches at http://www.mountaineagles.org.
